Coco (Dolly) – Review

Review: When my husband and I decided to start looking for another puppy friend for our 1 year old Morkie, we started with a similar path we had found our first through but we kept hitting dead ends.  With God’s help, we found our way to Carol. A colleague had turned me on to Havanese with stories about their unparalleled senses, loyalty, and calm demeanor.  In our search to add such a dog to our family, we came across Carol’s website.  Reading through the testimonies of past adoptions, the explanation of how the puppies are treated in her care, and the thoroughness of her selection system encouraged us to pursue her direction.  From that very first phone call, we knew that our lives were meant to cross.
The whole process was smooth from the application, interview, preparing for our puppy, and retrieving her!  Every conversation was a pleasure, every question having a research backed answer to ease our minds of welcoming a new breed to our family.  The cries of our sweet pup on the drive home were evident that she was lovingly taken care of and we are honored to have been trusted to continue to care for her.
She has meshed with our family so well, adjusting to our routines and very easy to train! Our original dog was so happy to have a new sister and they are the best of friends!  Working with Carol was one of those experiences that you know didn’t happen by accident.  Her warmth, love, and care not only for her dogs but also the people who adopt them will help to sustain not only her business, but also a lifelong friendship.

Coco (Dolly) Update (written from her perspective): Life is certainly different in this new home of mine, but I feel nothing but loved!  I have a new brother who loves to play with me and we enjoy the “sneaky” stealing of toys back and forth.  I spend my nights snuggled in my own soft bed lined with shirts smelling like my family.  I promptly alert my parents it is time to get up after exactly 8 hours and it’s time to play! I show my older brother how to eat well by efficiently emptying my bowl at breakfast and dinner.  I go to the bathroom on the pad in the kitchen every time (well, most of the time) and I’m starting to learn that outside is another place to go!  Outside is my new favorite thing!  I love to prance down the path and sniff everything I see.  In the field, there are lots of leaves, sticks, and smells to be smelled.  In the evenings, my brother and I cuddle on the couch with the humans.  Life is good.

Kelce – Update

Hi Carol!

I got your email – so cute!  Kelce definitely misses you guys!

How are all his sisters and mom and dad doing?  He’s doing so well here!  The boys love getting their play time and cuddle time with him and Kelce and Cooper enjoy some limited play time!

It’s hard to get them to stay still for pictures but here are a couple. I love the one with Kelce in the middle of licking his lips!!

Hope you are all well and staying warm in this cold weather!!

Carly (Kalie) – Review

Carol and Dennis are truly first-class dog breeders.  It’s obvious they love what they do and care deeply for their dogs.  We became aware of this from the moment we first contacted them about what was to become our little Carly.

Carly and her siblings were born and raised in a loving, healthy environment.  These puppies were treated like family, well nurtured and completely up to date with their vet visits.  One thing that Carol makes clear is the puppies do not go to the first person that calls.  Potential owners are questioned about their home environment, their experience with puppies and dogs, their plans for caring for the dog and she even checked us out with our own vet.

We are pad training Carly and while we would like to take credit for our success that honor goes to Carol and Dennis.  We merely had to remind Carly a couple of times and now just take it for granted she knows what to do.  This is another example of Carol and Dennis’ determination to place a healthy puppy with the right basic training into the right home.  Our vet was very complimentary of Carly’s health and healthcare history.

We highly recommend Carol and Dennis as breeders of Havanese puppies.

Take Care,
Dawn, Bill and Carly

Bailey (Misty) – Review

We lost our 14-year-old Havanese back in October.  We knew we wanted another but realized they are hard to find.  I tried contacting a few breeders and either never got a return call or was told that all puppies were spoken for.  I then found Carol’s website and was impressed with how cute all of her puppies were.  I called and was immediately able to speak with her.  Not only is she sweet as can be, her wealth of knowledge about the breed, and her genuine love for her pups made me look no further.  At the time the puppies were around seven weeks old and Carol had just begun the process of finding them homes.  That spoke volumes to me, as most breeders have their puppies sold before they’re even born.  Carol was different.  She took the time to learn each puppy’s personality so that she could place them in the perfect home at eleven weeks old.  She definitely is not a breeder that is just in it for the money.
All five puppies were so adorable.  We had such a hard time deciding which one we wanted.  Carol got a sense of our family dynamic and suggested that Bailey (formerly Misty) would fit best in our home.  Boy, was she right!  It feels like she’s been here forever.  It amazes me how smart, calm, and obedient she is.  She has been sleeping through the night since the day we brought her home.  She also came paper trained!!!  She has the best demeanor and is such a cuddle bug.   You can tell she was definitely loved and well taken care of since the day she was born.
Carol is an extraordinary breeder and if I ever am looking for another Havanese in the future, she is the only one I’d ever use.
